Kingsport Academic Village

The Kingsport Academic Village is a center for higher education and workforce development in Downtown Kingsport. The Village consists of the Regional Center for Health Professions, the Regional Center for Advanced Manufacturing, and the Kingsport Center for Higher Education.

The Regional Center for Health Professions houses all of Northeast State Community College’s health-related and nursing programs. The 42,000 square-foot facility is located at 300 W. Main Street in Kingsport and offers programs in Cardiovascular Technology, Dental Assisting, Emergency Medical Technology(EMT-Basic and EMT-Paramedic), Medical Laboratory Technology, and Surgical Technology. The facility also is home to the College’s Nursing program, which offers a two-year associate of applied science degree.

The Regional Center for Advanced Manufacturing opened in fall 2009 and provides classroom and laboratory space for local businesses and industries to conduct training for current employees who work in advanced manufacturing jobs as well as the primary facility for Northeast State Community College to teach its advanced manufacturing specific degree and certificate programs.

The Kingsport Center for Higher Education is a $12 million, 54,000-square-foot facility. The facility, which opened in fall 2009, is administered by Northeast State and combines the resources of Carson-Newman College, King College, Lincoln Memorial University, and the University of Tennessee under one roof. Students will be able to earn selected baccalaureate and graduate degrees from participating colleges and universities as well as associate degrees from Northeast State.
